Nov 26, 2018 · I installed Office 2016 for Mac a few days ago. I installed OneDrive client as part of the Office installation. I don't see a OneDrive icon in Finder's sidebar (just a normal folder icon), and I don't see any overlay icons in OneDrive's folder. I run macOS 10.14.1 Mojave and OneDrive client version 18.192.0920.0013 (the latest stable to the date).
