My remote users use Sonicwall Mobile Connect to use SSL VPN to connect to the network. This was setup by the previous sysadmin. The problem I'm having is that the IP address given out by this protocol only exists for the length of the session. When they disconnect, the IP goes back in the pool. For Sonicwall (either NSA-series or TZ-series firewalls using SSL-VPN, or SRA-series SSL-VPN appliances) you need to use NetExtender for Windows 8.0 or previous (or Mac OS X 10.8 or previous). Off hand, I know of no way to use the native VPN in Win 8.0 (or earlier) to connect to the SSL-VPN on Sonicwalls, only to the IPSEC/L2TP client VPN. The VPN config on the Sonicwall is identical (apart from the destination IP address) for Site1 and Site2. Access rules are also identical.
