Ah-Ha! A loophole and we love a loophole. Apparently, the majority of students won't need to pay for an extra TV Licence to watch favourite programmes such as Peaky Blinders or Flea Bag on the BBC, despite changes back in September 2016.. Previously, you only needed a TV licence to watch live programmes on BBC iPlayer. However, as of 1 September 2016, you need one for any on-demand iPlayer viewing. That includes using BBC iPlayer to catch up on telly that’s been broadcast on BBC One, BBC Two, etc; dipping back into archive shows or downloading programmes to watch while offline.
If you're in the U.K. it will ask you if you have a TV license (as the law has recently changed to include VOD in the license fee). Click yes. You can now watch anything on there.
